Recipe: Pumpkin Bread (It is fall, after all!)

I don't remember where I got this from, but this recipe for pumpkin bread tastes amazing. Just know that this is not my own recipe, and If I could remember where I found it, I would link the site.
My notes: The bread tastes so much better if it is eaten within the first week or so. Freezing it works as well, but if you do freeze it, plan on eating it immediately after thawing it out. Otherwise, after about two days the moisture will sink to the bottom, and it will taste gross. This recipe makes two loaves. I and my family ate one right away (It was very delicious), and I froze one to take with me to college. When I got into college, I started eating one slice a day. I found that the bread was really good (tasted the same as the fresh loaf) for the first three days. After that,  it really didn't taste good at all. I ended up throwing it away.
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup smooth applesauce
3 large eggs
1 (15 ounce) can solid pack pumpkin
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups wheat flour
2 teaspoons ground cloves
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Butter and flour two 9x5x3 loaf pans or muffin tins.
Beat sugar and oil in a large bowl to blend.
Mix in eggs, pumpkin, and apple sauce.
Sift four, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, salt, and baking powder into another large bowl.
Stir into pumpkin mixture in 2 additions.
Divide batter equally among prepared pans (muffin tins).
Bake until tester comes out clean, about 1 hour for loaves, 20 min for muffins.

Film Review (new style): Cabin in The Woods

Cabin in The Woods (2012) is a horror film about five college students who take a weekend to spend some time in a secluded cabin in the woods. Soon after arriving they discover that nothing is as it seems. As they are subsequently attacked by zombies, they must find out what is going on before they all die.

I give this film a 1 out of 5 stars. It SUCKED. It was not scary at all, and whatever humor it possessed looked extremely forced. the whole of the plot is given away almost immediately when the "Cabin in the woods Crew" is introduced. This is the crew that makes all the scary stuff happen. This film would have been so much better (though never topping 3 stars) if the crew had not been introduced until the end. I must say that Chris Hemsworth is the best part of the movie, aside from the end credits. The whole move is nothing more than a sad joke.

I'd love to hear what anyone else has to say about this movie, especially if you enjoyed it. I haven't met anyone yet who liked it, so a new opinion is always appreciated.

Romans 2:1-11

Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge one another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same as yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who will render to each person according to his deeds: to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.

Romans 2:1-11, NASB

I use the MacArthur Study Bible, which is an excellent source of study and cross-reference.

As life Progresses... Sometimes it Rains

It has been approximately three months since my last post. How did this come to be? I mean, I used to post every day! I guess it has something to do with life and things. I'm entering the world as a college student. I am in my second year. There are many things that I must attend to. Still, it makes me mad at myself that "you don't even have time to post something on your blog???" Nope, I'm sorry.

Anyway, I thought I'd post a little poem today.

Rain, rain, fall all day.
Please don't stop,
fall as you may.
Wet and clean; good for the earth,
Rain, rain, you  can stay.
