send the light

This hymn, in the "Hymns of the Faith" hymnal is one of my favorites. Plus it's easy to play on piano. :)

Send the Light
by Charles H. Gabriel
1890
  1. There’s a call comes ringing o’er the restless wave,
    “Send the light! Send the light!”
    There are souls to rescue, there are souls to save,
    Send the light! Send the light!
    • Refrain:
      Send the light, the blessed Gospel light;
      Let it shine from shore to shore!
      Send the light, the blessed Gospel light;
      Let it shine forevermore!
  2. We have heard the Macedonian call today,
    “Send the light! Send the light!”
    And a golden off’ring at the cross we lay,
    Send the light! Send the light!
  3. Let us pray that grace may everywhere abound,
    “Send the light! Send the light!”
    And a Christlike spirit everywhere be found,
    Send the light! Send the light!
  4. Let us not grow weary in the work of love,
    “Send the light! Send the light!”
    Let us gather jewels for a crown above,
    Send the light! Send the light!

This was taken last winter, which was the worst winter I can remember in North Dakota. This is a dawn that was so beautiful, it took my breath away. enjoy.

quotes of the siblings

a few times in the future, you will hear a story about my younger siblings that I think is funny. today is one such story.

I was doing dishes with my younger sister, Patty, and we were talking about being left handed and right handed. she said she wishes she were extrapedestrian. I think she meant ambidextrous.
