A prayer, a Promise I will Keep

Oh Lord, I'll stop disobeying,
I'll give you what is yours.
I'll take more time in praying,
I'll diligently do my chores.
Good for evil I'll be repaying,
And I promise to follow every course
That you lead me on, Oh Lord.

  1. The old sinner loves to make commitments it can't keep. That's been my experience. And yet God is faithful to his promises. I presided at a wedding this afternoon and the hymn that was chosen was "Great is Thy Faithfulness." What a glorious sound it was in my ears! "All I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me." That is to say, unto YOU. God will surely keep his promises.

  2. I actually made this commitment a couple of years ago and I have been able to keep it (as much as the human being can), it's just that I rededicated my life to God then, and I found this poem that I wrote back then.

Thank you for the comment. Yes, God's faithfulness has been great unto me. I've stumbled in my walk so many times that I almost gave up, Yet He stayed with me and helped me through.
